Italy: Perugia ends Trentino’s furious start, Vibo continue to win, Lube at 6-0, Milano,Modena and Cisterna ok

Sir Safety Conad Perugia rejected the furious start of Itas Trentino in an italian classic of the sixth round of the 2020/21 Italian Superlega Credem Banca regular season. After managing to come back from a one-set deficit, Perugia beat big rivals and remained in command of the competition with a 6-0 score and 18 points. Perugia didn’t only bounce back from losing the opening set but also from trailing 18:13 in the fourth set. Cuban-Polish Wilfredo León was the top scorer for the winners with 18 points including 4 aces while Roberto Russo made 4 winning blocks. As for Trentino, the Dutchman Nimir Abdel-Aziz scored 24 points.
In other matches of the round, Leo Shoes Modena with 16 points by Serbian Nemanja Petrić and Moritz Karlitzek’s 4 aces inflicted the third defeat in a row to Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, while Top Volley Cisterna with 20 points by Canadian Arthur Szwarc stunned Vero Volley Monza by beating them in four sets to record the first victory in the league.
Allianz Milano, with 19 points by Frenchman Jean Patry and Slovenian Jan Kozamernik 4 blocks, noted the third successive victory as they downed NBV Verona. For them, it was the third defeat in a row (photogallery of the match).
