After months of debates and campaigns and a big day of voting and eating sausages, Australia finally got a result to the Indigenous Voice to Parliament Referendum. Yep, the result was a 'No' from the majority of Australians and all the states. For the 'Yes' side, it was a devastating loss, but those on the 'no' side say it was the right result. So where to from here? Well, Indigenous leaders who campaigned for the Voice to Parliament are calling for a week of silence across the country to grieve and reflect. While leaders on both sides of the debate say they'll continue working hard to find new ways to work towards reconciliation.

NEW NZ PRIME MINISTER

Our pals across the ditch also had a big weekend at the polling booths voting in a new Prime Minister. The opposition National Party came out on top with new PM Christopher Luxon, beating the Labour party's Chris Hipkins for the top job. 21 year old Māori candidate Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke also became the country's youngest MP in 170 years.

AFGHANISTAN BEATS ENGLAND

In one of the biggest upsets in cricket world cup history. Current world champs, England went down to Afghanistan last night by 69 runs. The win was only the second game Afghanistan's ever won in a world cup and it's left England's chances of retaining the title in real trouble! The result also means bad news for the Aussies plummeting us to the bottom of the ladder as we take on Sri Lanka in a must-win match tonight.

CONSTELLATION CUP

Now to netball, where Australia has taken a 2-nil lead over New Zealand in the Constellation Cup. The Diamonds took the 55-46 win over Silver Ferns in Brisbane last night with Aussie goal shooter Cara Koenen scoring an impressive 33 goals off of 33 shots.

SPORTS AUSTRALIA HALL OF FAME

Finally to the Sports Australia Hall of Fame, where there are some new faces. It's an award reserved for retired athletes who contributed greatly to their sports on and off the field. Seven Aussie sporting icons including Tim Cahill, Kurt Fearnley and Lydia Lassila are the newest inductees, with world champion surfer Layne Beachley and former Wallabies captain Mark Ella now officially reaching legend status, Australia's highest sporting honour.

PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE

People in the U-S and South America were treated to something pretty special over the weekend an annular solar eclipse. NASA calls it a "ring of fire" and you can see why. It's when the moon's shadow covers the sun leaving its outer edge visible, like a ring! Here in Australia, we couldn't see it so you'll have to settle for watching other people watch it instead.

NASA ASTEROID ROCKET

Don't get comfortable because we're still looking skyward where NASA's launched a spacecraft on a unique mission. Inside this SpaceX rocket is a probe about the size of a small van. It'll travel 3.5 billion kays to a metal-rich asteroid, known as Psyche. It's thought to be full of iron, nickel, gold and other metals worth 10 quadrillion U-S dollars. Don't hold your breath, though it's not due to reach the asteroid until August 2029.

TAYLOR SWIFT RECORD

Before we head back to earth let's marvel at the eye-popping, record-breaking,  interstellar success of Taylor Swift's new concert film. Her Eras Tour movie has made more than $150 million dollars in its opening weekend in America. That's more than any other concert film has made before, not just in the first week, but ever! That is out of this world.
