China’s Xi skips G20 summit in snub to India and West: Analyst

Chinese President Xi Jinping is skipping the G20 summit this weekend in a snub to host country India and the world's biggest economies. Mr Steven Okun, a senior advisor at consultancy firm McLarty Associates, tells CNA’s World Tonight the move sends a message that Beijing does not want to be a part of the existing international rules-based order, which it sees as written by the West. Instead, China is focusing on BRICS and other areas that Beijing could be the lead architect of.
