I’ve been reading the past 12 months’ work with the aim of doing a what-I-got-right-and-wrong column, but find I didn’t make many predictions. One, last month, was that Taylor Swift would be Time’s person of the year, which she was; another, in May, was that Donald Trump would skip the Republican debates, which he did. “He’s leading, his competitors are trailing; they need it, he doesn’t; he’s famous, they aren’t. One of them could land a shot and ding his mystique. Recent polls say that’s wrong, the Trump-Biden numbers are close, with Mr. Trump leading. I guess we’ll find out.

She has been a fellow at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics, and has taught in the history department at Yale University.
Before entering the Reagan White House, Noonan was a producer and writer at CBS News in New York, and an adjunct professor of Journalism at New York University. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up there, in Massapequa Park, Long Island, and in Rutherford, New Jersey. She is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford. She lives in New York City. In November, 2016 she was named one of the city's Literary Lions by the New York Public Library.
