Eight Trump Electors Granted Immunity in Georgia Investigation

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis extended the immunity offers to eight of the activists last month, and all eight accepted, according to a court filing from defense lawyer Kimberly Bourroughs Debrow.

The Georgia prosecutor investigating former President Donald Trump has reached immunity deals with at least eight Republican Party activists who helped his unsuccessful effort to falsely be declared the state’s winner in the 2020 presidential election, a lawyer for the so-called fake electors revealed in a Friday court filing.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis extended the immunity offers to eight of the activists last month, and all eight accepted, according to a court filing from defense lawyer Kimberly Bourroughs Debrow.
Ms. Debrow said in the filing that “none of the interviewed electors said anything in any of their interviews that was incriminating to themselves or anyone else, and certainly not to any other elector represented by defense counsel.”
The filing responded to a recent motion filed by Ms. Willis that seeks to disqualify Ms. Debrow from simultaneously representing 10 of the people—including the eight who accepted the deal— involved in the elector strategy. The group is sometimes referred to as “fake electors,” often by Democrats, or as their lawyers have called them, “alternate electors.”
A spokesman for Ms. Willis didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
