To me, however, concerns about the former president’s ability to govern effectively are as important as the questions raised by the aftermath of the 2020 election. Mr. Trump excites an irrational loathing in many on the left that makes any type of bipartisan collaboration or compromise very difficult, if not impossible. I’ve never owned a fleece vest, but I find myself agreeing with most of what Gerard Baker’s Fleece Vest character says (“‘Fleece Vest’ and ‘MAGA Hat’ Discuss Trump,” Free Expression, Nov. 28). To me, however, concerns about the former president’s ability to govern effectively are as important as the questions raised by the aftermath of the 2020 election.

Mr. Trump excites an irrational loathing in many on the left that makes any type of bipartisan collaboration or compromise very difficult, if not impossible. His presence at the top of the ticket is unlikely to help build functioning Republican majorities in the House and Senate, especially given his track record of promoting unelectable candidates.
