Busking or begging: How India sees its street performers

Busking, a form of showcasing art on the streets, is a widely accepted art form in western countries but still in a nascent stage in India. Traditional street performances like puppet shows or snake charmers have been a part of Indian culture, however, buskers who practice the art form are facing resistance from society. Busking is a passion that comes with its share of challenges. Some performers have been booked and even picked up by the police.
