In an important decision, the Supreme Court Friday conferred on a child, born outside lawful marriage or to a void/voidable marriage, the right to inherit his/her parents’ property but clarified that this would not entitle such a child to laying any coparcenary claim over the property held jointly by a Hindu Undivided Family (HUF).
