One woman dead in Round Rock after being hit by a car
The Round Rock Police Department is investigating an auto-pedestrian accident that killed a woman Friday night.At 9:52 p.m. Friday, Round Rock police officers responded to a welfare concern in the 2200 block of North Interstate 35, the department said in a press release. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a person who was dead on the shoulder of the highway. Officers determined that the person had injuries that were consistent with being hit by a car.Officers identified the person as Jennifer Wingard, 31.Police officers said a driver who hit Wingard on the highway is cooperating with the investigation.Police officers said the investigation is ongoing.
