Renard met Selma Bacha’s corner with a firm downward header that bounced back up off the turf and beyond goalkeeper Leticia to give the French all three points after opening their campaign with a 0-0 draw against Jamaica last Sunday. The French, who controlled much of the game on Saturday, took an early lead through veteran striker Eugenie Le Sommer. Brazil hit back to equalise in the second half through Debinha, but Renard appeared at the back post to head in an 83rd-minute winner from a corner. That winning feeling!
