Perhaps ChatGPT should preface everything it generates with: “An undisclosed source provided the following.” It seems to work for much of the press in light of its “capacity to generate statements about real individuals that are false, misleading, or disparaging,” as the Federal Trade Commission writes about ChatGPT (“Lina Khan’s Artificial Intelligence,” Review & Outlook, July 14).
