UNICEF: 333 Million Children In The World Are In The Grip Of Extreme Poverty

The United Nations (UN) Children’s Fund (UNICEF) reported that 333 million children, approximately 1 in 6 of the world’s child population, live in extreme poverty. UNICEF and the World Bank jointly prepared a report titled “Children Living in Poverty According to the International Hunger Line”. The report pointed out that the number of children living below the $2.15 per day limit and considered “extreme poverty” decreased by 13 percent from 2013 to 2022, from 383 million to 333 million, and stated that 30 million children were left behind the target due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
