About 15 minutes before that, a drive-up party at a location on Dupont Drive, had drawn police to another shooting, said Lapatin.

Several people had rushed toward a 28-year-old man and one of them had fatally shot him. He was pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital, said Lapatin.

At about 1:30 a.m., he said, police dealt with the shooting of 22-year-old Dovan Reyes.

Reyes sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot injury, Lapatin said, when uninvited guests came to a house party on Elmwood Avenue.
