Presidential primaries used to be fun. Not this one. The Republican road to Iowa’s caucuses Jan. 15 and on to New Hampshire has been a long slog for anyone still paying attention. What happened? Florida’s Gov. Ron DeSantis in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network said the Trump indictments “sucked out a lot of oxygen” from the primaries. Who could disagree?
A consumer of news over New Year’s weekend saw lengthy attempts to explain the arcane constitutional issues over the limits on Donald Trump’s claims of presidential immunity from prosecutions and whether Section 3 of the 14th Amendment should ban Mr. Trump from state presidential ballots.
